Jaeger LeCoultre Duometer and Chronograph Complication

Jaeger LeCoultre has brought us number of sports watches and for the past few weeks we have seen them release luxurious watches. This Jaeger LeCoultre Duometer and Chronograph they are presenting now is a combination of a sports and luxurious timepiece that many would adore.

This Jaeger LeCoultre Watch is made of a luxurious 18 carat rose gold case which makes an undeniably irresistible charm. To match this case, they created this with a brown alligator strap which looks perfect together. Aside from the stylish and luxurious design of this watch, they also created this with functionality which makes it suitable for sports activities. This watch has chronographs for the jumping seconds, power reserve indicator, hours and minutes counters, etc. aside from the time on the sub dial located on 9 o’clock.

Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon by Jaeger LeCoultre

Here is Jaeger LeCoultre once again with another timepiece that will surely attract many watch enthusiasts and collectors. They are presenting this Jaeger LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon featuring functionality and elegance.

Like the other elegant timepiece that we have seen, this Jaeger LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon is also made with an 18 carat rose gold case and bezel. To match this, they have also included a dark brown alligator strap with gold clasp. The time and functions on this watch is presented in a white dial accented with rose gold hour markers and hands.

Jaeger-LeCoultre MasterCompressor W-Alarm 46 ValentinoRossiMensWristwatch

EXTREMELY RARE AND HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE.

Master G Limited to just 346 pieces. In tribute to Valentino Rossi and his race number 46, Jaeger LeCoultre introduces the Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm '46'.

On the city disc, certain cities generally representing specific time zones have been replaced by those of the great motor-racing circuits, such as Laguna Seca, Sepang, Mugello and Donington (adjusted via Black PVD-coated Aluminum crown at 10).

Despite the massive case, the alarm buzz is clear and easily audible, quite a feat given its large size. JLC achieves this by running the gong around the circumference of the movement, instead of attaching it to the caseback as in earlier Memovox alarm watches. This layout is more akin to a minute repeater than an alarm watch. Even when the alarm is at full wind, it can be deactivated simply by depressing the push piece around the 10 o'clock city crown. The acoustics within the case have been optimized to ensure a powerful and harmonious tone with consistently identical intensity and tone, whether the alarm watch is being worn or not.

Local hour and minute hands, trapeze-shaped gold-plated, openworked, luminescent. Crown at 2 controls the alarm function and rapid date correction in counter clockwise direction. Crown at 4 starts the watch, adjusts time; crown equipped with a compression key. Crown at 10 to display world time, in black anodized aluminum. Double-sided push-piece at 10 to start/stop the alarm.

Jaeger LeCoultre Ladies Ceramic Master Compressor Diving Watch

We have seen several watches from Jaeger LeCoultre collection and most of them are men’s watches but this time, they have created a unique and very functional timepiece exclusively for women. This watch is called as Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Diving GMT Lady Ceramic.

As expected of Jaeger LeCoultre’s creations, this ladies version of Master Compressor is also a stylish and sporty looking watch that includes functionality. This watch is also made luxurious to suit women’s preference. They have included on this diamond embellishments found on the bezel. The bezel and case of this watch are made of a black ceramic material which makes it strong and scratch resistant.

This is paired with a black articulated rubber strap to complement the case. This watch also includes a guilloche patterned black dial that has accents of silver hour markers and luminescent coated hands. This timepiece also goes with a 24 hour second time zone found on the 9 o’clock position and a date indicator on the window at 3 o’clock.

This Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Diving GMT for ladies is definitely one of their watches to collect. Women should take this chance to get a luxurious ladies watch from Jaeger LeCoultre.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grand Tourbillon Mens Wristwatch

Finally JLC brings a Master Tourbillon to the market & while considered one of the finest Manufacturers in the industry - yet the watch is still extremely well priced for a watch of this caliber!

  • Silvered Sunray-brushed Dial with Silver toned Hands & Hour Markers.
  • 1 Minute Tourbillon.
  • Second Time-Zone indicated by independent Hour Hand sub-dial located at the 12 o'clock position. This sub-dial has 2 different guilloche finishes for the AM & PM zones.

Commemorating its 175th anniversary, the Swiss Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre has created a series of limited edition Master Control 1833 watches. Consisting of truly marvelous Master Minute Repeater, Eight Days Perpetual SQ, Grand Turbillon and Ultra Thin, the series easily demonstrates the JLC’s excellence in all specialties of haute horlogerie.

The first Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control with an integrated Tourbillon. Features brand new enlarged balance design. Tourbillon cage in T5 Titanium with a mass of 0.28 grams - necessary for the rapid eight-times-per-second tourbillon oscillation. (The tourbillon houses the different elements of the escapement in a mobile cage and increases the operational accuracy of the watch by compensating for errors of rate in vertical positions.) Home time dial in Sunburst (Rayonnant) Guilloche. The hour hand is adjusted in quick-set 1 hour increments in either direction (via a slight rotation of the crown), and synchronized with home time.

The gilded hands are an elegant Alpha-shape. The monobloc rotor with perforation and relief engraving is in 22k Rose Gold. The central perforation allows the wearer to view the tourbillon even when the rotor is positioned directly over it.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Clocks Are Back

Jaeger-LeCoultre, the proud creator of the legandary Atmos clock, has marked its 175th anniversary with introducing new interpretations of the Atmos clock, for which the year 2008 is also a milestone year.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos clock is famous for two remarkable characteristics - it is easy to maintain and functions in a really extraordinary way. The Atmos requires no battery, electricity and even winding. The clock was born thanks to the genius of Jean-Leon Reutter.

Since he was 14, Jean-Leon Reutter was overwhelmed by the idea to invent a perpetual clock. Having graduated as an engineer from the prestigious Zurich Institute of Technology, in 1928 Jean-Leon developed the principle of a clock with an outstanding ability to keep time for centuries without any external intervention. In 1932, Jean-Leon Reutter met David LeCoultre who was ready to spend all his manufacturing resources on the production of this incredible clock.

The Atmos enjoyed an instant success, with some 750,000 sold to date. Moreover, the clock's mechanism is so environmentally-friendly that it would take 60 million to produce enough energy for lighting a single 15 watt bulb.

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Atmos, Jaeger-LeCoultre has launched three totally original models created in close cooperation with leading artists and craftsmen.

The first Atmos has been created by famous designer Marc Newson, who has long been fascinated by the clock. The designer himself contacted Jaeger-LeCoultre and shared his idea about creating a new model. The Australian artist, the designer of the Orgone stretch lounge chair, has enveloped the Atmos 561 by Marc Newson in a Baccarat crystal ice-cube, inspired by the contemporary design principles of pure lines and forms. It took five attempts to come up with the ideally smooth crystal envelope.

The second original Atmos model has nothing to do with contemporary design, tracing back to the 17th century, when Andreas Cellarius drew his star chart. The Atmos Astronomique features a reproduction of a map of the heavens on a glass case. It is equipped with a complicated movement offering an equation of time, the month and showing the constellations of the northern hemisphere.

The third Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos glorifies the exquisite art of marquetry. The case of the clock, which automatically slides open, is a true masterpiece created in a limited edition of ten, being inlaid with hundreds of pieces of precious wood and gold leaf. The painstakingly assembled pieces reproduce the celebrated Portrait of Adele Bloch by Gustav Klimt.

Jaeger-le Coultre Memovox Tribute to Polaris - A Must Have Re-Edition of a Classic

There are good looking watches and great looking watches and then there are a few watches that it's tough to imagine ever taking off of your wrist - the huge (for its time) JLC Memovox Polaris, manufactured by Jaeger-Le Coultre from 1965-1970 is definitely one of just a handful of watches that makes it into the latter column in my book. Technically the first watch designed for diving that featured an alarm, its real appeal back then most likely rested in the fact that it was, as a result of its size, extraordinarily easy to read.

A target of collectors since production stopped in 1970, an original Memovox Polaris is almost impossible to find now. Anyone who has one won't part with it easily - that's for sure.

Luckily though, for 768 lucky watch aficionados, Jaeger is offering a re-edition of the celebrated Jaeger-Le Coultre Memovox Polaris this year. It is undoubtedly the one new watch to buy this year if you are buying only one.

The new Memovox Polaris, as you might imagine since it is a re-edition, is a very faithful replica of its predecessor. Jaeger has even abandoned the now ubiquitous sapphire crystal in favor of a domed synthetic glass that's accurate to the original design specifications.

The dial of the Polaris is perfection - there's plenty of room for all of the indicators, nothing is superfluous and everything is just where you'd want it to be. Conspicuous in its absence is an external bezel of any sort (the internal bezel rotates to log bottom time) to take the focus away from the important stuff. A hallmark of the original version, the triangle that marks the alarm time is there too - it's subtle but spot on.

Inside of the Jaeger-Le Coultre Memovox Polaris (2008) is the Jaeger Calibre 956 manually wound movement. It should be even more reliable (and accurate) than the original powerplant with the modern technology it incorporates but it still features a suspended gong - the feature that made the alarm of the original audible underwater and the subject of much of the advertising for the Polaris back in the late 60s.

On the wrist, the look and even the feel of the 42mm Polaris is like no other watch you've ever worn. It isn't often that you find a watch without a single design element that couldn't use some tweaking - the Jaeger-Le Coultre Memovox Polaris is one of those watches!Jaeger is making 768 of these in stainless steel - fly don't drive to your JLC authorized dealer!

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control 1833 Ultra Thin watch.

Featuring a 38mm in diameter and 3.31mm thick 18K rose gold case and laconic chocolate brown dial with gold cabochon minute track and dauphine hands, this time keeper by no means less complicated than the Grand Tourbillon model. For example, its Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 849 manual wind movement is made up of 123 pieces somehow fitted in a tiny space of just 1.85 millimeters. And all this beauty is completely hand-made!

This top class Ultra Thin is limited to only 575 pieces.

IWC Aquatimer collection 2009

The tradition of innovation

Once again, IWC Schaffhausen has extensively revised, both technically and aesthetically, its family of diver's watches, first introduced in 1967 under the name Aquatimer and since then further developed on a number of occasions. The unmistakeable DNA of its predecessors and the unbroken pursuit of innovation have not changed over time. This step coincides with a new partnership in support of environmental and marine conservation, which IWC has entered into with the Charles Darwin Foundation in the Galapagos to mark the Darwin bicentennial year in 2009.

This new environmental commitment by IWC will start in the Darwin anniversary year - 2009 - in which the scientific world will celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of the great British biologist and behavioural scientist Charles Darwin. He made his fundamental observations on the origin of species mainly on the Galapagos, the unique archipelago in the Pacific Ocean which was never in contact with the mainland at any time during the history of evolution. Specific animal and plant species not to be found anywhere else on earth evolved here through natural selection as a result of the differences in living conditions - even from one island to the next. This is also true of the marine life. Yet this "laboratory of evolution" is massively endangered by settlement, by illegal fishing and by the introduction of animals that are destroying the basis of existence of the indigenous species.

The non-profit Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) has more than 100 interns actively engaged in the conservation of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is on the "Red List". IWC not only backs this cause in non-material ways but also through a considerable financial contribution to support the CDF in this worthy endeavour. One of the new Aquatimer models, the Aquatimer Chronograph Edition Galapagos Islands, is dedicated specifically to this commitment.

IWC Vintage collection Jubilee edition 1868 – 2008

With its narrow Roman numerals and moon phase display, the Portofino Hand-Wound exudes the same timeless elegance as the original 24 years ago, and has made use of its renaissance to correct a “flaw” – albeit a rather becoming one: the choice of the 98800-calibre hunter movement means that the moon phase and seconds displays are now back at their conventional positions of 12 and 6’clock, respectively. The movement, which is based on the Jones calibre and features a nickel-plated nickel-silver threequarter plate, screw balance, Breguet spring and elongated index, has also undergone a modification: the accuracy of the moon phase display has been improved to the extent that it deviates by just one day in 122 years from the actual progress of the moon. In addition, the moon phase can easily be corrected using just the crown. The imposing 46-millimetre case remains unchanged. And with its sapphire glass, crossed out, antireflective and sapphire back cover, this superb example of a typical IWC pocket watch-style wristwatch can now be viewed from all sides.

IWC Aquatimer Chronograph “Cousteau Divers” Limited edition

For more than forty years Jacques-Yves Cousteau travelled the Seven Seas with one of the world’s best-known research vessels, the legendary “Calypso”. In 1996, the converted minesweeper was seriously damaged following a collision in Singapore harbour and sank. After years of uncertainty awaiting restoration in La Rochelle, the ship has now been transferred to a special wharf in Concarneau, where the extremely complex business of refurbishing is now going ahead at full speed. The ambitious goal is to reconstruct it completely and have it back in service by 2009. As in 2006, IWC will be contributing part of the proceeds from sales of its Aquatimer Chronograph “Cousteau Divers” in 2008 towards the salvation of this symbol of marine conservation worldwide. The watch is suitable for diving 12 bar and like all the watches in the Aquatimer watch family equipped with the practical rotating inner bezel used for setting and reading off dive time. The image of the “Calypso” on the back cover guarantees that the 2500-piece limited edition will be a much-sought-after rarity.

IWC pilot’s watch UTC edition “Antoine de Saint Exupéry”

“The eye wanders continuously over the dials. But all my subjects were wellbehaved and every needle was where it should have been…” The gripping collection of tales contained in “Wind, Sand and Stars”, from which this quotation is taken, is perhaps Saint Exupéry’s most impressive anthem to flying under the extreme conditions of that pioneering age. The scene changes from one continent to another and through many different time zones: from the endless tracts of Patagonia to the icy wastes of the cordilleras and the hostile expanses of the Sahara. So what could have been more appropriate than to give the third special edition dedicated to Saint Exupéry a UTC display. The abbreviation stands for Universal Time Coordinated. While your reference time – the time at home, for instance – continues to run normally in a separate window, local time can be moved backwards or forwards one hour at a time using the crown, depending on the direction of your flight. The date display is synchronized with the hour display. The engraving on the back cover is of a Latécoère 25, the aircraft Saint Exupéry used to fly on the postal routes in Argentina and Chile. Like its predecessors, this edition is limited to a number of watches equivalent to the year of the books’ publication: 1939. Of these, 1188 are in stainless steel, 500 in rose gold, 250 in white gold, and one in platinum. The latter is not for sale and will be auctioned to the highest bidder for a worthy cause.
