The term art deco comes from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes organized in 1925 by the French artists Hector Guimard, Eugène Grasset, Raoul Lachenal, Paul
Follot, Maurice Dufrene and Emile Decour. It was the first exhibition to include artistic innovation as a condition.
