  • The akoya oyster is the smallest pearl-producing oyster used in pearl cultivation, up to 8 cm in diameter. Therefore, the akoya pearl is rather small: from 2 to 9 mm, exceptionally up to 11 mm. These

pearls can only be implanted once. The pearls are harvested after 9 to 16 months. The thickness of the nacre layer is between 0.35mm and 0.70mm.
