The Hautlence Retrovision ’47 is an exceptional timepiece. Created to celebrate Hautlence’s 20th anniversary, it was born from a unique question: what might a Hautlence watch have looked like if the brand had already existed in the 1940s?
The answer was inspired by an iconic radio from that era: the General Television & Radio Corp. Model 5A5. Its rounded rectangular shape, speaker grille and dial details have been reinterpreted into a thoroughly contemporary timepiece. Even the back of the case echoes the rear of the original radio.
Haute Horlogerie Hidden Behind the Design
Behind the speaker grille lies perhaps the most intriguing detail of the Retrovision ’47: a 60-second flying tourbillon.
The tourbillon is deliberately partially concealed, as though positioned behind the speaker of a vintage radio. Its movement is therefore not simply something to admire, but an integral part of the story behind the design.
The timepiece is powered by the automatic D20 calibre, featuring a double hairspring and a 72-hour power reserve. Measuring 39.2 × 44.4 mm, the case is paired with a red leather strap that beautifully complements the watch’s vintage character.
Only 10 Pieces Worldwide
What makes this creation particularly remarkable for collectors is its extremely limited production.
The original Retrovision ’47 was conceived as a unique piece. Following the exceptional interest it received at Watches & Wonders 2024, Hautlence decided to produce a highly limited edition of just 10 pieces worldwide.
