This is a necklace with akoya pearls and a yellow gold clasp.
Akoya pearls are grown in the Pinctada fucata martensii, better known as the Akoya oyster.
The molluscs that produce the akoya pearls can grow up to five cores at a time, but usually only two are grown. The pearls are usually round or semi circular. They are ideal for making necklaces and
bracelets.
