Some pieces of jewellery call for a different approach than a ring or a pair of earrings. This exceptional necklace, designed for a client, is a beautiful example.
It is a rigid necklace: a structured collar that retains its elegant shape rather than moving freely like a traditional chain. For this reason, each piece is made entirely to measure. The shape must fit perfectly around the wearer's neck, shoulders, and posture, ensuring that the necklace is not only beautiful but also comfortable to wear.
The design process begins with a model made from copper wire. This allows us to accurately map the contours of the neck and shoulders. The design is then developed into a 3D-printed prototype, enabling the client to try on and experience the necklace before it is crafted in its final form.
During this stage, every detail is carefully considered: weight, width, thickness, and overall proportions. The result is a design that is not only aesthetically balanced but also tailored to the client's wishes and budget.
A Jewel with Endless Possibilities
What makes this design particularly special is its interchangeable front clasp. In the photograph, you can see a rectangular mint tourmaline suspended beneath the necklace. For the same client, we also created a second interchangeable element, set with a refined row of small diamonds. This instantly transforms the necklace, giving it a more subtle and understated appearance.
This versatility allows a single necklace to take on different personalities. Depending on the occasion, the season, or the mood of the wearer, a different element can easily be added. A deep, richly coloured gemstone may create a completely different atmosphere in winter than a light mint tourmaline worn in spring or summer. In this way, the necklace evolves alongside the person who wears it.
The reverse side features a safety clasp, which can be further personalised if desired. Subtle decorative elements such as flowers, meaningful symbols, dates, or other personal details can be incorporated, making the piece even more unique.
The strength of this design lies in its simplicity. Its lines are classic, balanced, and timeless, while at the same time offering room for transformation, personal expression, and future additions.
